How to service clients from Indigenous backgrounds

Linking with grassroots groups and ensuring First Nations people take the lead are key to servicing Indigenous clients, according to an Indigenous finance coach.

Ahead of the inaugural Women in Finance Summit 2023, First Nations Foundation manager, women’s economic empowerment, Larisha V Jerome, said understanding the financial needs of clients from Indigenous backgrounds requires financial services providers to collaborate with grassroots First Nations organisations.

“There are many First Nations organisations that know and work within their communities, and run programs already,” she told Money Management.
